black friday buys.

I've never been into the whole Black Friday thing. Sure, I love a great deal, but I dislike crowds and waiting. Because Jeff and I didn't see anything we wanted to line up for, I convinced him to go to H&M with me at midnight. They were handing out scratch cards worth up to $300 for the first 100 people. I was praying we would be in the first 100 and we were - our scratch cards totaled $75 together! Along with presents for some family, we ended up purchasing some items for ourselves. What I got was the kimono, blazer, and cardigan seen in the first photo, and the bra on the left in the second. Our purchases came out to $125, but we only ended up paying $50 due to the scratch cards! Awesome.

Since we were already at the mall, Jeff and I walked around some more and I ended up buying a couple things from Aerie - 40% off everything! The bralette and linen/air freshener was around $15 with the discount. I love how comfy bralettes are and I want to buy some more! And the "Suds & Kisses" scent is very nice.

Last thing from Black Friday purchases was actually purchased on Sunday, but it was the same sale. The flats with the chains are from Gap. I saw them online and was instant intrigued because they reminded me of those Lanvin chain flats Rosie Huntington-Whitely had been wearing a lot! I originally wanted the nude colored flats but they didn't have my size. But the black ones are nice too, right? Original price was $49.95, and they were 40% as well - so about $30 for those!

Overall, a wonderful first Black Friday experience!

missha perfect cover bb cream.

I finally purchased a bb cream! I've always wanted to try it but never got around to it. So when Missha was having a promotion for a free Perfect Cover BB Cream, I signed up right away! All I had to do was pay shipping...and wait three weeks because of the power outages at their warehouse due to the snowstorm.

When I first started looking into bb creams, Missha only had two shades of this particular product. Now they have five shades, and I wasn't sure which one would be the best match. After careful deliberation and googling swatches, I decided on #27, honey beige, because it seemed the most suited for my yellow undertones. In my opinion it's always better to be too dark than too light for foundations and such!

The packaging I like a lot - it's a tube with a pump, which is always useful and sanitary. The bb cream has somewhat of a strong fragrance, which I don't mind all that much but those with sensitive noses might. The coverage is light, which is what I am looking for since I don't have blemishes, only some uneven skin tone and a bit of redness. I have normal to combination and sensitive skin, and this bb cream suited my skin type pretty well. It didn't leave my skin feeling greasy or anything at all. I would probably repurchase this product, but I might try some other bb creams as well! Any recommendations?

a wet wednesday.

It was quite gloomy today, but Jeff and I made the most of it! I had to go run an errand in the city today so we drove back to Boston. We grabbed lunch at our favorite ramen place, Sapporo Ramen! Took a nap afterwards...haha. When we awoke, we met up with Jeff's mom, brother, and his wife at the mall and I bought a couple things. We had grilled cheese and tomato soup at Cheeseboy after which was pretty good. I bought a new pair of sunglasses to replace the ones I broke weeks ago, and these Revlon Color Burst Lip Butters I've been looking for! I really like them.

backstage at victoria's secret.

So the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was today, and I just spent the last hour looking through the threads on theFashionSpot. Now comes the waiting for the show to air on CBS...

1. Julia Stegner, aka my favorite model in the whole wide world, only got one outfit. She's always gotten two. I'm very disappointed.
2. Sui He walked for the first time this year and she looked gorgeous in her outfits! I was surprised at how pale she was, but nonetheless beautiful. I'm all for Asians on the runway.

let them eat cake.

A Marie Antoinette-inspired wedding shoot! Probably not what I would have for my wedding decor, but it's still a fun idea :)

new in november.

I've been a little slow on the updates lately - nothing much has happened, even with Halloweekend behind us. Originally I had planned on dressing up, but the random snowstorm on the east coast changed my mind.

Jeff and I realize we spend too extravagantly. Actually we always knew that but we never take it seriously because we like to enjoy ourselves a lot. So I decided to go on yet another shopping ban for this month. No personal purchases over a certain amount (so I can still buy magazines), and limiting the eating out as well.

As well as limiting the money spending, I really need to get my act together in the area of school. The people close to me know how unhappy I was during my first couple years of college, and taking a break was a good idea. But I'm nearly 21 and would really like to get back on track with school and graduate!

Well, here's to new goals for the month.
Words of encouragement would be appreciated!
